“Solitary Muse” - Erin Michaud (she/they)

For some, isolation is a luxury, a way to retreat from society to focus on creation. For most in 2020 and 2021, isolation became an overwhelming imposition. “Solitary Muse” is an exploration of the singular nature of life, and how the Covid pandemic, with its long periods of unconquerable inertia, provided me inspiration to create.  The shutdown of the society we were accustomed to exposed the uncaring nature of seclusion, and even those who didn't live alone at times still endured  the mundaneness of living a lonely life.  I now see it as a gift.
